Date note
No date or year is printed; the sheet says only “so far this year” and “recently appeared” on Network East, and the label supplied with the scan attributes it to 1987, which A08’s September 1987 Network East date makes plausible but does not prove.

Web copy
One passage is covered on this web copy. The original document is unchanged.

A one-page publicity sheet, part handwritten and part typed, prepared to promote The New English for bookings and labelled here as band publicity rather than press. A grainy photograph shows three people outdoors beside a low wall. Handwritten names read Sara Hewes, Johnny Rasheed and Shareef C, but nothing on the sheet says which name belongs to which person, and the first two names sit directly below the booking line. Bookings are directed to an agency, A C Promotion, in Liverpool. The handwritten text claims the band had supported The Brilliant Corners and Frank Chickens, played the Wimbledon Festival and recently appeared on Network East. A typed question-and-answer section gives the band’s own views on music, the indie scene and politics. No date or year is printed.

We play Indie-pop like eg Woodentops, Smiths, Housemartins

The band’s own answer to the first typed question on its publicity sheet; self-description, not independent criticism.
