Day and month are printed (‘SATURDAY 11th MARCH’); the year is a faint handwritten pencil note reading 1995 at the lower left, which agrees with the weekday (11 March was a Saturday in 1995 but a Thursday in 1993, the year in the label supplied with the scan), although the annotation’s author and date are unknown and the owner has not confirmed it.

This is a typewritten poster for a free evening at MacDevitt’s Bar in Reading, billed under the name Johnny Rasheed alone. It gives the date as Saturday 11th March, with an 8pm start, and carries a hand-drawn box labelled The Free Box above the details, plus a cropped black-and-white print at the top edge. A small pencil note at the lower left appears to read 1995, while the label supplied with the scan says 1993. Saturday 11 March fell in 1995, not 1993, so the handwritten year is the better candidate, but the year has not been confirmed. This is a solo item by Johnny Rasheed. It does not name The New English and should not be read as a band performance. As an advertisement it shows that an appearance was planned, not that it took place.
